The "1 + 1
= 4 concept"
Taking
pictures means being creative, playing with light and
colour, capturing moments and revealing to others a
very personal view of life. The possibilities are virtually
unlimited.
Anyone with this discriminating approach to photography
will soon discover that perfect photographs also need
to be seen in the right light. The most effective way,
of course, is on a large screen, in brilliant colour.
And for that, the best projector is just about good
enough.
Rollei has been building slide projectors for more than
35 years. For 35 mm and medium-format. Rollei slide
projectors have a superb reputation for their innovative
technology, uncompromising quality and outstanding ease
of operation. For example, the professional Rolleivision
66 and the unique dissolve projector, Rolleivision twin
MSC 535 P.
These products are the result of a concept, which, through
pioneering solutions in slide photography, has repeatedly
provided a fresh stimulus to the market. In the private
sector as in science and technology, in training sessions,
seminars, presentations or professional slide shows.
The Rolleivision 66 dual P is a projector that is geared
precisely to the needs and wishes of its users. The
designers took into account that the picture and slide
formats tend to be different in the private segment
than they are in the semi-professional sector or in
schools, advertising agencies or companies.
They came up with a true multi-format projector for
slide mounts with outside measurements of 7 x 7 and
5 x 5 cm for the most common negative formats of 6 x
6, 4.5 x 6, 4 x 4 and 24 x 36 mm. It is a unique projector
with innovative technology, sophisticated features and
an excellent range of lenses.
The multi-format
professional
Professional
possibilities
The Rolleivision 66 dual P is the result of
Rollei‘s many years of experience in the construction
of high-grade slide projectors. Apart from its unique
multi-format concept, it offers functions and modes,
which are regarded as exemplary in sophisticated projection.
- First of all, the previously mentioned ability
to handle the 6 x 6, 4.5 x 6, 4 x 4 cm and 24 x 36
mm formats via two different magazines. Comfortable
pre-sorting of the slides on the monitor
- A bright illuminated monitor on the top of the
housing allows comfortable presorting of the slides.
- With the Variofade technique, the slides can be
faded in and out anywhere in the magazine at speeds
of 0.1, 2.5 and 5 sec, thus creating impressive dissolve
effects between CUT and SOFT.
- Using the memo button on the remote control, up
to 16 slides can be tagged during the presentation
and then called up again when the magazine has come
to an end.
- Three slide screen times (4, 8 and 12 sec) can be
preselected via the timer for automatic projection.
- The ?auto-reverse“ mode, which can be programmed
for slides 1 – 60, permits automatic magazine return
and continuous projection.
- The projector can be connected for audio-assisted
and dissolve slide shows; it also has a V-24 PC interface
for linking up to the multimedia world.
Focus on operating comfort
- The Rolleivision 66 dual P can be adjusted for 6
x 6 or 35mm magazines in no time at all. Inserting
the magazine and start-up take a matter of seconds.
- An integrated autofocus system with override function
ensures optimum focusing on the screen – superfast
and with precision accuracy.
- The interval light is automatically switched on
stand-by mode before projection starts and after the
magazine has run through.
- The projector recognises empty magazine compartments
and triggers a shutter to cut out sudden brightness
on the screen.
- If a lamp fails, the spare lamp switches on automatically.
- All the functions can be comfortably controlled
via the infrared remote control, which can be removed
from the housing.
Maximum reliability
The Rolleivision 66 dual P is also equipped with the
unique MSC technology (Multi Sensor Control). This means
microprocessor- controlled direct drive, which ensure
maximum functional reliability, freedom from vibrations
and a long life.
Superior technology
for comfortable, professional presentations
Be
your own director with the remote control
You will find everything you need for a live projection
on the hand-held infrared remote control. You can start
and end the slide show, give the command for forward
or backward projection, activate the preset slide screen
time (timer) for an automatic advance, interrupt it
at any time, fine-tune the focus by hand, set the dissolve
times from CUT to SOFT in three steps and, using the
memo button, tag up to 16 slides you would like to show
again at the end of the presentation.
You can direct the whole show from your armchair or
anywhere else in the room. And there are no cords or
cables to worry about either. The clear arrangement
of the different sized buttons means you have everything
under control at all times, even though it may be dark.
For external operation, the IR remote control operates
with a 9V battery pack and has a particularly wide range.
Automatic focusing
The autofocus ensures that, once the basic setting has
been made manually, the reset is looked after automatically
during projection. It all happens so quickly, the audience
hardly notices.
In certain circumstances, especially with different
types of mount, it may be necessary to fine-tune the
sharpness on the remote control using the override facility.
For the next slide change, the autofocus is automatically
activated again.
Sophisticated lighting system
The 24V/250W halogen lamp, in combination with the fully
coated condenser system, ensures optimum illumination.
To adapt the light to the room conditions or to the
size of the screen, the output can be reduced in 5 %
stages via a 5-step dimmer.
An automatic voltage stabiliser protects the lamp from
overload where fluctuations occur in the mains voltage.
Should the lamp fail during the presentation, the projector
automatically switches to the spare lamp – a process
that goes virtually unnoticed. An LED indicates that
the spare lamp is in use and that the defective lamp
should be replaced as soon as possible.
A particularly quiet but powerful axial fan takes care
of the heat problems and keeps the slides at the right
temperature. For safety reasons, it also operates when
the lamp is switched off. In the case of a malfunction,
an integrated overload cut-out prevents any damage to
the projector or the slide.
Automatic return and continuous projection
In ?autoreverse“ position, the magazine is returned
to slide 1 with the lamp switched off after the last
slide. The projector starts again according to the set
screen time.
Continuous projection can be programmed for slides 1
– 60 or parts thereof.
Unique transport system for medium format and
35 mm
For 6 x 6 and 4.5 x 6 picture formats, the so-called
77 standard magazines are used. For 4 x 4 and 24 x 36
(with the appropriate mask, also 18 x 24 half-formats),
the DIN 108 standard magazines for 35 mm can be used.
Rollei‘s interconnectable magazines are particularly
recommended. They can easily be hooked into one another
during projection and, in conjunction with the magazine
track extension (optional extra), allow several magazines
to be projected without interruption, one after the
other.
This is of particular interest for professional purposes
and where a larger number of slides are used in dissolve
projection with a second projector.
The Rollei interconnecting magazines are available for
30 medium-format slides under the name CM 77/30 and
for 50 35mm slides under the name CM 55/50.
With the Rolleivision 66 dual P, a precision slide control
ensures accurate position all the time. The magazine
track is open, so that corrections to the picture sequence
can be made at any time during the presentation.
Synchronised audio slide show
In combination with the side synchronizer and a tape
recorder or cassette recorder, the Rolleivision 66 dual
P can also be used for sound-backed automatic slide
shows (via the 8-pin socket).
Premium-quality
lenses
The
demanding slide photographer will automatically make
sure he uses a top quality lens for shooting his pictures.
The emphasis is on sharpness, contrast, colour rendition
and resolving power. But all this does not help very
much if the projection lens is unable to reproduce on
the screen all the fine details captured in the transparency.
This is why Rollei has been working for several decades
with the world famous lens specialists, Schneider-Kreuznach.
The lenses marketed under the name AVXenotar have received
praise and recognition among experts all over the globe.
Rollei has now gone a step further. Using the very latest
computing techniques, Rollei has developed a number
of new lenses in Brunswick especially for the Rolleivision
66 dual P.
These fast Rollei AV-Apogon projection lenses are specifically
for AV application and for use in teaching and science.
Their performance is impressive. They have exceptional
resolving power, outstanding brilliance and optimum
brightness distribution.
All supported by Rollei‘s proprietary HFT (High Fidelity
Transfer) multilayer coating system, which eliminates
troublesome reflections and colour fringes and guarantees
absolutely faithful colour rendition.
A complete range of lenses is available for the Rolleivision
66 dual P to fit in with any room and screen size:
The fast Rollei AV-Apogon 90 mm f/2.8 and 120 mm f/2.8
HFT. The 120 mm AVApogon is regarded as the standard
lens for projection with 7 x 7 and 5 x 5 slide mounts.
The Schneider range includes the AVXenotar 90 mm f/3.5,
150 mm f/2.8, 250 mm f/4 and 400 f/4 HFT.
The lenses for the Rolleivision 66 dual P also fit the
previous models, the Rollei P11, P66 AF, P66 S and Rolleivision
66/66 AV.
The fascination
of dissolve projection
Anyone wishing to present a rather more sophisticated
slide show will need to look at the enormous possibilities
offered by dissolve projection. With two or more Rolleivision
66 dual P projectors, a dissolve option offers a wide
variety of creative options – from flowing picture fade-overs
at various speeds to special effects such as blinking,
flashing, alternating and sandwich, to mention but a
few. All these effects help to stimulate the mood of
the audience and enhance the effectiveness of the presentation.
The peak is an opticalacoustic dissolve presentation,
which allows a programmed reproduction with synchronous
picture and sound via a stereo tape recorder or cassette
recorder, a CD player or direct from a PC.
Two Rolleivision 66 dual P projectors can be comfortably
placed on top of each other with the AV kit (optional
extra). It represents a space-saving alternative to
conventional projection racks. A number of commercial
pulse generators can be connected via the 14-pin dissolve
terminal.
Dissolve control units from e.g. Stumpfl, Bassgen, and
m.objects are suitable. In combination with a tape recorder
(multi-track cassette recorder), the selected effects
can be recorded on tape during the presentation in the
form of control pulses in real time. The show can then
be called up any number of times in sync with the sound.
With a dissolve software program, slide shows can also
be designed and programmed completely on a computer.
